Aragorn is an estimated 3-year-old, 11 lb Chihuahua mix with a heart of gold waiting for his forever kingdom. He was rescued from a local animal services facility where he was at risk due to overcrowding. While initially nervous in the shelter environment, Aragorn proved to be easily handled and we know he'll truly blossom once he's out of a stressful situation and in a loving home. He arrived with his buddies Frodo and Pippin and is happily dog-friendly.
Aragorn is a unique soul who might just be the perfect fit if you're looking for a canine companion with a bit of independence! He's not much of a lap dog, preferring to bestow his affection on his own terms, with mornings being prime time for belly rubs. He thrives with a job to do, whether it's patrolling a secure fence or engaging in a fun treat hunt – he's incredibly vigilant and happy when given a task. He's a pro on leash once he's out and about, though it might take a little encouragement to get him there. While he's not a fan of crowds or new experiences, the simple joys of mealtime or a delicious new bone send him into fits of delight! He'll do best in a home that offers a consistent routine, a spacious yard for him to patrol, and a patient parent who can see the sweet, loving, and loyal companion he is beneath his initially reserved exterior.
Ideal Home
Aragorn would thrive in a home with an experienced dog owner who understands his need for space and routines. A resident dog (or two!) is a must for Aragorn to feel comfortable and secure. He needs a securely fenced yard and would do best in a home without children.
Ongoing Health
Aragorn is a healthy boy and will come to you spayed/neutered, up to date on core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm tested (if applicable), and microchipped with registration.
Training & Support
Aragorn is already crate-trained, but his new family will need to continue reinforcing this. Given his initial shyness, patience and understanding will be key to helping him settle in and build confidence.

Transporation
Aragorn is currently in a foster home in Seattle, WA. Transport can be arranged to a home within our adoption region.
