About Ducky (foster-to-adopt)

Meet Ducky! This sweet girl has made such impressive strides and has built wonderful relationships. Tennis balls are her absolute favorite pastime, and she'll play for hours, but only if you have a very secure, fenced-in yard, as she's a remarkably good jumper! Ducky can get a bit frustrated on leash, especially around new dogs, but she would absolutely love a home with a nice yard where she can get all her exercise.

She is very exuberant and athletic in her play style and would be best as the only dog in the home, as she bonds deeply with her people and adores affection and companionship. Like many dogs who have spent time in kennels, Ducky will need a relaxed person who is comfortable and patient as she builds a relationship. She has shown no concern when chilling out in the kennel area with people she doesn't know well, but we still feel her comfort level with new humans is still developing. We want her to have ample time to meet anyone new so she can truly blossom and thrive to her fullest potential.

Ideal Home

Ducky needs a home with a very secure, fenced-in yard due to her impressive jumping ability. She would be best as the only dog in the home.

Ongoing Health

All vetting is up to date, including deworming and flea/tick prevention. Spay/neuter and microchip are included. If Ducky is under 6 months old, altering and chipping will occur after she is 6 months old and covered in full at our clinic or partially reimbursed at a vet of your choosing. If Ducky is older than 6 months and not yet altered, she will be scheduled for surgery ASAP, normally within 30 days, at our clinic. Housetraining can be a work in progress with rescues; expect an adjustment period as Ducky adapts to a new environment.

Training & Support

Ducky can have some frustration on the leash, particularly in the presence of other new dogs. We highly recommend a two-week shutdown and decompression period for Ducky to best acclimate to her new home. We also offer a $60 rebate for the completion of positive-based training classes. You will have access to weekly support from our behavior team who can help with acclimation and answer any questions.

Application Details:
