Rex

Rex is a handsome shepherd mix, likely around six years old, who was found wandering the streets of Houston. He seems to have been abandoned by his previous owners but showed a surprising instinct to trust when a car stopped for him, jumping in despite not knowing who they were. This led him to our rescue, where he's been adjusting. Rex is a dog with a deep history and a strong personality. He misses his past, even though he was treated poorly, and can sometimes seem confused or longing for his previous people. He's a dominant dog, but he's not looking for conflict. While he might initially warn you with a growl if he feels uncomfortable, he also quietly leans in for pets and clearly responds to kindness. He is grieving his abandonment and will need a patient and understanding family.
