Camila and Regina

Meet Camila and Regina, a bonded pair of Shih Tzu sisters ready to find their forever home together! These two sweethearts were found wandering together in Saltillo, Mexico, and after a vet check and some TLC, they're ready for their next adventure. Camila is a year old and about 8.6 lbs, with a lovely white coat and dark brown markings. Regina is 10 months old and around 8.2 lbs, with a similar white coat and lighter brown markings. They are affectionate, social, and love nothing more than to be cuddled and showered with attention. They walk well on a leash, are crate-trained, and travel nicely in the car. They get along with other dogs and are happy to meet new people!

Ideal Home

Camila and Regina would thrive in an active home with a fenced backyard, where they can enjoy outdoor activities with their family. They are looking for a family with a genuine commitment to rescue and a deep understanding of the needs of street animals, including their need for protection and education. Previous experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, or a willingness to hire a trainer to help these intelligent girls reach their full potential. High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are essential.

Ongoing Health

Camila and Regina have received a comprehensive health protocol, including spay/neuter, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, microchipping, a 4DX test, a negative heartworm test, and monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive. They also have a health certificate and vaccine booklet. Please note that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period due to past experiences, and patience is crucial.

Training & Support

It's important to understand that rescued dogs, including Camila and Regina, may not be house-trained. Patience and a structured approach are key to their successful integration into a new home. Providing a safe and loving environment, establishing a routine, and setting clear boundaries will help them build trust and feel secure.

Application Details:

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• You will be asked to provide photos and videos of your home to ensure it's a safe environment for your future furry friend.
• If your application is a match, we will arrange a call or video chat to introduce you to the pet and conduct a virtual home tour.
• We will also speak with 1-2 of your references.
• Upon approval, you will sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which covers veterinary care, spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and food, ensuring your pet is ready to come home.

Transportation

Camila and Regina are currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and are ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip if adopted! We offer door-to-door delivery. Our transport process includes scheduled trips (3-4 times per year with 15-20 adoptions per trip) managed by a contracted transport company. Pets travel with all necessary legal documents, including a transport contract and a USDA health certificate. For US adoptions, pets cross the border into Texas. For Canadian adoptions, they are delivered to the nearest US-Canada border. Adopters will be added to a private Facebook Messenger group for real-time updates on their pet's journey. A one-time transport fee of $400 USD covers the cost from Mexico to your home.
