My name is Josie! I'm a lovely 60-pound Kelpie, around 5 years old, and I'm looking for my forever family. I adore people and am generally good with most large dogs. I thrive on praise and petting, and while toys aren't my biggest thing, I do have a healthy appreciation for food – which is good, because I need to shed a few pounds! I love to be active, whether it's walking, running, or hiking, but I'm also happy to just hang out with my favorite humans. I'm a smart cookie and pay close attention to my people, but be warned, my high prey drive means that cats and small dogs are definitely not safe with me.

Ideal Home

A home that understands my need for exercise and mental stimulation will be a perfect fit. Due to my high prey drive, I cannot be in a home with cats or small dogs.

Ongoing Health

I'm spayed, vaccinated, and ready to go! I do need to lose a few pounds, but with a good diet and plenty of exercise, I'll be feeling my best in no time. I am also terrified of thunderstorms, so a home that can help me feel safe during those events would be wonderful.

Training & Support

I'm working on my leash manners, but I am a very smart dog and a quick learner. I'll need some consistent training in this area, especially since my attention can wander if a cat is around!
