About Ontario (D2009)

Meet Ontario, a sweet and gentle pup from our Great Lakes litter! Born on April 30, 2026, Ontario is a Lab/Hound mix who currently weighs between 10-16 lbs but is sure to grow into a large, loving companion. His littermates were transferred to us from a rural shelter in Virginia, and they're all doing wonderfully in their foster homes.

Ontario is described by his foster as being on the more laid-back side. He enjoys playtime, chasing and being chased, but is also the first to decide it's time for a chew toy and some relaxation. He has a sweet personality, and while it took him a little time to warm up to being held, he's now slowly starting to ask for snuggles and is gentle when seeking out a lap. He's even starting to discover the joys of the puppy pool!

Ideal Home

Ontario is being fostered in a home with other dogs and plays regularly with children. As with all puppies, he will need a family who understands that pet ownership is a lifelong commitment requiring daily exercise, continued training, and socialization. A tired puppy is a happy puppy!

Ongoing Health

Ontario is a healthy puppy.

Training & Support

Ontario is still learning and will need time to adjust to a new home and its expectations. He's slowly learning to enjoy being held and is figuring out the puppy pool. Continued training and socialization will be key to his success in his new home.
