About Dora

Meet Dora, a sweet and adventurous 5.5-month-old Lab mix who's ready to explore the world with her forever family! Dora made her way from Puerto Rico to the DC area in search of a loving home, and she promises to bring endless love and loyalty in return. She's a smart pup who enjoys playtime, snuggles, and learning new things, and she'd love to attend dog school to show off her intelligence. Dora is a curious explorer who, despite initial shyness with new people, quickly warms up and becomes a devoted companion. She loves affection, enjoys being held, and is happiest when by your side. She sleeps soundly in her crate, is making great progress with house training, and always enjoys a good meal. Whether on walks, exploring new trails, or simply people-watching, Dora thrives on experiencing the world.

Ideal Home

Dora would thrive in a home that can provide plenty of opportunities for socialization and exploration. She would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can commit to regular walks, dog park visits, or doggy daycare to help her learn and grow. Because she is under 6 months old, potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements for multiple potty breaks and exercise throughout the day.

Ongoing Health

Dora has received age-appropriate vaccinations but may not be fully vaccinated yet. It is the adopter's responsibility to ensure that all remaining puppy vaccinations are given on schedule. Until fully vaccinated, puppies are at a higher risk for illness.

Training & Support

Dora will need continued work on house training and obedience school to become a well-socialized dog. Her foster notes that she is doing great with house training and sleeps through the night in her crate.
