Barney

Barney is a sweet and happy 7-year-old longhaired dachshund. He's a bit chubby, but has a heart of gold! Barney is excellent with all people and dogs of all sizes. He's outgoing and doesn't bark at new people, which is quite unusual for a dachshund.

Ideal Home

Barney would do best in a home that isn't gone for long hours. He would love to have friendly companion dogs to play with. Older children, 10+ who are dog-savvy, are okay. A securely fenced yard in a home setting is a must for Barney.

Ongoing Health

Barney recently had a neuter surgery to address an enlarged prostate that was displacing his bladder and causing frequent urination. This surgery is expected to be curative. He still needs a dental procedure at the end of July before he can be adopted.

Training & Support

Barney is a friendly and outgoing boy who is generally well-behaved. He is house-trained.
