Lou Loomie is a charming approximately 5-month-old Lab/Aussie mix who weighs about 30lbs. His most striking feature is his incredibly large, expressive ears that are sure to bring a smile to your face. Beyond his adorable looks, Lou is a sweet and affectionate boy who melts into your touch. He has an easygoing nature that makes him a joy to be around. Lou is balanced, not overly hyper but also not a couch potato, happily adjusting to walks, backyard play, or quiet evenings at home. He thrives on affection, leaning into pets and soaking up all the love you can give.

Ideal Home

Lou would do best in a home with experienced dog owners who understand the importance of consistency and boundaries. He would also love a backyard to explore and stretch his legs. A semi-active family that enjoys outings but also appreciates relaxing evenings at home would be a wonderful match.

Ongoing Health

Lou is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vetting, which includes vaccinations, deworming, flea and heartworm prevention, and he has been spayed/neutered.

Training & Support

Lou is doing well with potty training, with an estimated 85% success rate, and benefits from a consistent schedule. He is highly food-motivated, making him an eager and quick learner when it comes to training. He is also crate trained and settles down nicely after an initial protest. Continued crate training is recommended for structure and routine.

Transporation

Lou is currently in Texas. We facilitate nationwide adoptions using our USDA-certified transport system, with drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. Transport includes real-time tracking, photo updates, and a private Facebook event page for adopters. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
