Meet Axel Rose! This handsome 26lb Basenji/Terrier mix, estimated to be born around April 5, 2024, is on the hunt for his forever family. Axel is a friendly boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart, perfect for adventures and cuddles alike.
Axel loves to chat, especially when he wants attention, but a friendly hello quickly turns his talk into happy tail wags and affection. He's already mastered potty training and is a good boy inside the home, often found relaxing by the window. However, he also enjoys a good zoomie session in the backyard and loves to stretch his legs outdoors.
Axel's story began when he was found abandoned, but despite his rough start, he remains incredibly loving and trusting. He gets along well with other dogs of all sizes and enjoys making new canine friends. We're still learning about his compatibility with cats and can arrange a kitty test for interested adopters.

- Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog. Fees for puppies (under 12 months) are higher because they require more vetting than dogs over 1 year.
- Listed breed and age are based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff; DNA tests are not included in adoption.
- Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.

Transporation
Axel is located in Houston, TX. Transport is available out of state! We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
