Alfie

Alfie is a special boy who is looking for a very patient and understanding family. He is about 1.5 years old and weighs about 25 lbs. Alfie is the most shut down and anxious of his littermates and needs a home that will allow him to learn that the world isn't so scary at his own pace. He is a former lab dog, and his new family will need to do their research and understand what that entails. Alfie will need time, patience, and positive reinforcement to learn to navigate our world.

Ideal Home

Alfie needs a fully fenced, secure yard as he is a flight risk. He would do best with at least one confident dog to show him the ropes. Children in the home must be over 12 and respectful, as loud noises and sudden movements can spook him. He has not yet met cats.

Ongoing Health

Alfie is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and on monthly preventatives.

Training & Support

His new family will need to be prepared to continue working on potty, leash, and crate training using positive reinforcement. His family must have experience with dogs like Alfie and be ready to discuss what his continued rehabilitation looks like.
