About Tuxie

Proof You Can Be Handsome and Humble

Meet Tuxie, a dapper 1-year-old mixed breed weighing around 50 lbs. He might have a name that suggests a life of luxury, but Tuxie is a down-to-earth gentleman who prefers cozy nights in over fancy parties. Rescued from the streets of Houston, he settled into foster life with an open heart and a wagging tail, proving he's a natural-born "good boy." Tuxie is a social butterfly, making friends easily with his confident and gentle demeanor. He's already a hit with his foster siblings, a Golden Retriever and a Pit Bull, who consider him the best roommate ever. Tuxie possesses an old soul with youthful energy, showing intelligence and a strong desire to please. He's a quick learner, mastering new tricks and commands like "sit" and "fetch" with ease. While he's working on his leash manners, he's also developed a clear "no thank you" to small animals and cats, making him a great companion for those without them.

Ideal Home

Tuxie would thrive in a home with another friendly dog, where he can have a balance of playtime and quiet companionship. He's looking for humans who appreciate his sweet nature, his loyalty, and his ability to make everyday moments feel a little brighter.

Ongoing Health

Tuxie is a healthy boy with no ongoing health concerns mentioned.

Training & Support

Tuxie is fully potty-trained and rarely barks, making him a quiet and well-behaved companion. He's eager to please and is learning new commands quickly. His prey drive is low towards cats and small animals. As with all rescue dogs, he benefits from continued positive reinforcement and patience as he continues to settle into his forever home. Homes with children 10 years and over are recommended to ensure the best fit for both Tuxie and the family.
