About Charlie
This sweet little girl was found abandoned south of Dallas alongside her mama and brother. While we may never know exactly what their life looked like before rescue, we do know that Charlie arrived with a severely damaged eye that ultimately had to be removed. Today, Charlie is officially rocking her adorable permanent wink, and she's happier than ever. The amazing part? Charlie never let her eye slow her down for even a second. Before surgery, she played, explored, cuddled, and loved life as if nothing was wrong. Now that her eye is gone, she's even more comfortable and thriving. If anything, the only thing she lost was an eye. She certainly didn't lose her sparkle. At around 5 months old and approximately 18 pounds, Charlie is expected to remain a wonderful medium-small companion. We believe she is a Boxer mix, possibly with a little American Bully mixed in. Her mama weighs about 40 pounds, but we believe Dad was a much smaller dog based on Charlie's size and build. Because of that, we expect Charlie to stay on the smaller side and likely mature to 35 pounds or less. The best way to describe Charlie? She has never met a stranger. Seriously. Whether you're a child, an adult, another dog, or someone she met 30 seconds ago, Charlie's response is always the same: "Hi! I love you already!" She is one of the sweetest puppies you'll ever meet. Charlie adores everyone. She happily greets new people with tail wags, kisses, and excitement. She loves being held, loves making new friends, and seems convinced that every person she encounters was put on earth specifically to love her. When she's not making new friends, you'll often find Charlie stretched out in a sunny spot soaking up the warmth. This little girl absolutely loves to sunbathe and can frequently be found lounging in the sunshine like she's on a tiny puppy vacation. Charlie is crate trained, working on potty training, great with other dogs, wonderful with kids, friendly with everyone she meets, loves to sunbathe, quiet and rarely barks, affectionate, gentle, and incredibly sweet, and completely unfazed by her missing eye. More than anything, Charlie is ready for a family who sees her the way we do: not as a puppy who had a rough start, but as a joyful, resilient little girl with a heart far bigger than her tiny body. Her missing eye doesn't define her. If anything, it makes her even more unforgettable. The only thing more adorable than her permanent wink is her endless belief that every person she meets is a potential best friend. If you're looking for a puppy who greets every day with optimism, tail wags, puppy kisses, and unconditional love, Charlie may be the perfect addition to your family.
