Birka

Birka is a very sweet 3-year-old German Shepherd who is still young and full of potential. She is eager to learn and please, easily motivated with good handler focus and a strong drive for food and toys. Birka thrives in an active home willing to provide her with the proper daily mental and physical exercise she needs.

Ideal Home

Birka would do best in an active home that can meet her needs for mental and physical stimulation. She is not suited for a home with small pets of any kind due to her high prey drive. She also tends to jump and would be best suited for a home with older children or adults.

Ongoing Health

Birka is potty trained and crate trained, remaining clean and non-destructive when in her crate. She will alert you when she needs to go out by pacing or whining, and otherwise settles well and is quiet.

Training & Support

Birka knows commands such as sit, down, wait, come, out, crate, and place. She is treadmill trained and good with basic grooming and handling. She is also good in the car when secured with a seatbelt. Birka is good with other dogs her size or bigger when properly introduced, and would do best with a dog that enjoys rough play. She is currently learning to heel and has been introduced to an e-collar. Birka will require a confident handler who is gentle yet firm, providing structure, consistency, and encouraging good decision-making. Like a true German Shepherd, she can be protective if not properly structured.
