Buddy Edward is a middle-aged dude with a bit of a belly that we're actively working on! He's the happiest, most charming Shih Tzu around, with a signature snort and a delightful waddle. He came to us at 18 lbs, and while his vet says his bloodwork looks great, his weight is a concern and we want to prevent any future health issues. His foster family has him on a special diet and kibble, with one meal a day to help him reach a healthier weight.
Buddy has beautiful curly white and tan fur. He had some bald spots from skin infections, but they've since grown back beautifully. As with many Shih Tzus, he'll require regular grooming, including frequent trips to the salon, to keep his coat looking its best.
Ideal Home
Buddy loves attention and is happy to snuggle on a lap. He's also great with cats, small dogs, and big dogs, and enjoys car rides and going anywhere!
Ongoing Health
Buddy's weight is a health concern, and we're committed to helping him manage it. He is up to date on vaccines, has been dewormed, microchipped, and neutered. He tested negative for heartworms and is on preventative medication.
Training & Support
Buddy is leash trained and potty trained. He came to us with his two dog siblings after his elderly owners could no longer care for them. While he had more housetraining than his companions, he's continued to do well.
