Gina is an 8-month-old, 56lb spayed female Belgian Malinois mix who was found abandoned as a tiny puppy. She was discovered in a cardboard box by a busy road, a rough start that she has overcome thanks to her loving foster home. Gina is now ready to find her forever family.
Ideal Home
Gina enjoys the company of familiar dog friends and loves to play tug-of-war. While she’s comfortable with small dogs (under 15 lbs) and large dogs (over 75 lbs), she can be a bit apprehensive and bark at unfamiliar or larger dogs due to a past attack. Slow introductions are a must. She’s too enthusiastic about neighborhood cats, so a cat-free home is recommended. Gina has not been around children, but she can be jumpy when excited and doesn't realize her size. We suggest a home with older, dog-savvy children (10+) who can handle her energy. She’ll thrive in an active home with someone dedicated to daily play and exercise.
Ongoing Health

Training & Support
Gina is crate trained and doing well with house training, having no accidents when crated for up to 8 hours. She walks nicely on a leash and shows no signs of separation anxiety. Gina does prefer to eat her treats alone and is in a "puppy velociraptor stage," so guidance on appropriate chew toys will be needed. We are guessing her breed and that she will be a large dog when fully grown. Adopters should be prepared to provide ongoing socialization, positive training, and plenty of outlets for exercise, play, and enrichment to help her grow into a well-mannered adult.

- Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
- We are a volunteer-run rescue and ask that you only apply if you are serious about moving forward in our adoption process.

Transporation
Gina is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX, and can be transported out of state once an approved adopter is found. Transports run every few weeks, and she will be placed on the next available transport upon approval. If you need to adopt at a specific time, please apply closer to that date.
