BAXTER (Gorgeous Low Shedding Boy, Loving, Sweet, Good with Kids & Dogs)

Baxter is a handsome, scruffy Irish Wolfhound/Giant Schnauzer mix weighing 80 pounds. This affectionate, sweet, independent boy loves cuddling, playing with squeaky toys, and fetching. He enjoys outdoor adventures and settles down happily afterward for a relaxing evening with his people.

Baxter was rescued after being abandoned and is now thriving in foster care. He gets along with other dogs, especially female dogs, and shows no signs of aggression. He is curious about cats and chickens, so a home without them would be best. He currently lives with children ages 3 and 5, though his size means older children may be a better fit.

Ideal Home

Baxter would love a loving forever home with people who enjoy outdoor activities, companionship, playtime, and plenty of affection. A home without cats or chickens is recommended, and older children may be preferable because Baxter does not always realize how large he is.

Ongoing Health

Baxter is neutered, microchipped, current on all vaccines, and receives Credelio for flea and tick prevention and Interceptor Plus for heartworm prevention. He is scheduled for a veterinary checkup to obtain a health certificate before travel.

Training & Support

Baxter is crate trained and house trained. He is learning to walk on a leash, is not destructive, and has not been a regular chewer. He sits calmly for baths, loves drinking from a garden hose, and has a very low-shedding, scruffy wiry coat.
