About Bear

Bear is a 10-month-old, 53-pound Labrador Retriever mix who is overflowing with love, personality, and youthful exuberance! This sweet and friendly boy gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and children alike. Bear genuinely enjoys being around everyone and is happiest when he has company, making new friends wherever he goes. He has a lot of energy and loves to run and play, so he'll thrive in an active home that can provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.

Ideal Home

Bear would love a home with another playful dog or access to a doggy daycare to help him stay happy and engaged. He is looking for an active family that understands he's still very much a puppy at heart. Yards MUST be adequately and fully fenced; electric or underground fences are not accepted.

Ongoing Health

Bear is fully vetted, neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and on heartworm and flea prevention.

Training & Support

Bear is house-trained but not yet crate-trained. He does have food-related resource guarding, which stems from his past experiences. While he's comfortable with his trusted caregiver, he can become protective of his food around other dogs and must be fed separately. This behavior is limited to feeding times, and with consistent management and positive reinforcement training, it is expected to diminish and disappear as he builds confidence and trust. Adopters should be committed to managing feeding times appropriately.
