Opal

Opal and Dusty are two incredible 2-year-old dogs who have overcome so much fear and blossomed into loyal, loving companions. They were found as scared strays in New Mexico and, upon arrival, were too fearful to even be caught. Thanks to dedicated care and training, they have transformed into wonderful dogs who eagerly seek human contact and are now excellent on leash. They even demonstrated their devotion by staying by a volunteer's side when she accidentally fell during a walk, ensuring she was okay before continuing. Both Opal and Dusty are between 70-80 pounds and are in magnificent condition. A generous donor has offered up to $500 to help with a trainer for their new adopter, and these two would thrive in a ranch or farm setting, potentially even as service dogs, given their desire to bond and their inherent loyalty. They have also completed snake avoidance training with impressive results. While they would ideally be placed together, separation is possible if necessary.
