Meet Hector!
This handsome boy was found wandering the streets of the Houston area, trying to survive all alone as just a young puppy. No family. No safe place to sleep. No one looking out for him. Thankfully, a local shelter picked him up and kept him safe until one of our amazing foster families was able to step in. Instead of growing up in a cold, loud shelter, Hector is now learning what it means to be loved while he waits for a forever family of his own. Hector is believed to be a Standard Schnauzer and is approximately 5 months old, weighing about 35 pounds. He is up-to-date on vaccines, house trained, and kennel trained. He loves children, is great with other dogs, and good with cats. He walks well on a leash and rides well in a car.
Standard Schnauzers are intelligent, loyal, and incredibly devoted to their people. They are known for forming strong bonds with their families and love being involved in everyday life. They're playful, athletic, and eager to learn, making them wonderful companions for active households. Schnauzers are also a breed suitable for people who are looking for a more hypoallergenic dog. Because they're highly intelligent, Standard Schnauzers enjoy learning new things and thrive with positive training, daily exercise, and plenty of human interaction. They aren't dogs that want to spend all day alone—they truly love being part of the family.
Ideal Home
At just five months old, Hector is still very much a puppy with lots of growing, learning, and exploring ahead of him. He would do best with a family that enjoys spending time together and is excited to help him continue building confidence and good manners. His ideal family will include him in everyday life, provide daily walks and playtime, enjoy training and teaching him new things, and give him plenty of love, structure, and attention. He would welcome a fun, affectionate puppy who will grow into a loyal lifelong companion.

Training & Support
Hector is house trained and kennel trained. He also walks well on a leash. As a young puppy, he will benefit from continued positive training and socialization.
