Meet Zed, a gentle giant in training with a heart as big as his growing paws! This handsome German Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix puppy is impossible not to love. With his striking black coat, warm tan markings, adorable white chest patch, and one little white sock, Zed has a look that's as sweet as his personality!
Zed prefers to take a moment to observe, making him a thoughtful boy who can be a little timid at first. Once he feels safe, his affectionate and playful side shines through. He loves being close to his people and soaks up every bit of attention! Zed has a wonderfully balanced personality; he enjoys playing with his siblings and exploring, but is also content to entertain himself or relax nearby. He's a puppy who enjoys companionship without needing to be the center of attention constantly.
Like the rest of his litter, Zed thrives on routine and has adapted beautifully to a structured schedule. He eats, sleeps well through the night, and is making great progress with both pee pad and crate training! Zed has been exposed to children and does wonderfully with them, and he gets along well with the adult German Shepherd in his foster home. He's also been introduced to cats and can comfortably share space with them, though he's still figuring them out. Zed's calm, easygoing nature means he tends to go with the flow, adapts well to new routines, and brings a peaceful presence. He'll happily play and cuddle by your side but also has the confidence for a little independence. Like all puppies, Zed will need patience, consistency, and continued training as he grows. In return, you'll gain a loyal companion with a gentle spirit and a loving heart.

Zed is comfortable around children, adults, and the resident German Shepherd. He has also been introduced to cats.

Transportation
Zed is located in the Greater Houston area. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system. This includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time. A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
