Ike

Ike is a 1-year-old, 45lb pit mix who is ready to find his forever home! He was found alone and injured on the Eisenhower Expressway with a fractured pelvis. Thankfully, a kind Good Samaritan brought him to the emergency vet, where he received amazing care and showed incredible gratitude. After his initial recovery, he was transferred to us, and his vet tech foster mom opened her home to him.

Ike is still recovering from his injury and needs to take it easy for a couple more weeks, so he can't run and play like a typical young dog. However, he's absolutely loving his new life and is already making friends with his foster's cat and other dogs in the building. He enjoys puzzle toys and bones, and especially loves his frozen Kong and other special treats his foster creates for him.

Ideal Home

Ike would love an active home that can continue to give him the love and attention he deserves. He's happy to have furry siblings, canine or feline, or to be the only pet. He's a very adaptable dog who just wants to be included!

Ongoing Health

Ike is recovering from a fractured pelvis and is still taking it easy for a few more weeks.

Training & Support

Ike is a smart boy who enjoys puzzle toys and treats. Continue to provide him with mentally stimulating activities as he recovers and settles into his new home.
