About Pop
Hello, I'm Pop! I'm a happy-go-lucky pup with super soft fur and adorable white markings on my nose. My fur is thicker and fuller than most pitties, suggesting a bit of Border Collie in my lineage! I came from New Mexico with my brother and sister, and while I don't remember much from back then, I've learned so much since. I'm already potty trained and will let you know when I need to go out by lying by the door. I'm also kennel trained, though I admit I don't love being in there. I'm very trustworthy and can be left out on my own without destroying anything; I usually just sleep! At night, I love to snuggle up close to my foster mom for warmth.
I know how to "sit," "stay," "wait," and "off," and I'm working on "come." Food is a big motivator for me, especially peanut butter and yogurt, and I always wait for the "okay" command before I eat. I'm also getting much better at taking treats gently. I get along wonderfully with my fabulous 10-year-old foster sister and have met her friends, though I do tend to bark at them initially. I'm a little unsure about younger kids at first because they can be fast-moving, but after about 10 minutes, I calm down and just want to lick them. I'm not sure about cats, but I absolutely adore other dogs! I'm my slightly younger foster brother's emotional support dog, and he needs to be by my side. I love to play with my almost two-year-old, 55lb foster sister, enjoying games like tug, keep away, and chase. My almost four-year-old, 96lb foster brother tolerates my playful nudges. My favorite doggy games include wrestling, zoomies, and tug-of-war. I also enjoy neighborhood walks.
I'm a smart dog who loves to learn and wants to be friends with everyone, though I take my time warming up. I love to snuggle and be loved. I'm always up for an adventure and would make a great hiking buddy and travel companion. Above all, I just want to be with my people, have a dog friend, and live the best life!
My dream day would involve a morning walk, a good breakfast, lots of playtime, a nap, a lunch snack, more playtime, another nap, dinner, more playtime, snuggles, and a final potty break before bed. I'm a bit like Puff the Magic Dragon because my foster mom wrote special lyrics to his song for me! I love stuffies, hard plastic chew toys, and anything I can play tug with. I enjoy as much playtime as possible, with long naps in between. Seeing my people when they get home makes my tail wag harder than anything!
Ideal Home
My dream family would have older kids, another dog, and enjoy an active lifestyle. Sleeping in bed with my person is a must!
Ongoing Health
I have no known health conditions.
Training & Support
I am potty and kennel trained, though I prefer not to be in my kennel. I know several commands and am working on "come." I'm learning to take treats gently. I can be a bit vocal with new people and need some time to warm up to them, especially children.
