Shyla

Shyla is a sweet 8-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is blossoming beautifully after a tough start in a puppy mill. She's learning what it's like to be a cherished pet and has already shown us so much progress! Shyla now greets her foster mom with happy dances and tail wags, enjoys sleeping with the other dogs, and is discovering that people are wonderful. Once she trusts you, she is incredibly affectionate and thrives on gentle attention.

Ideal Home

Shyla needs a patient family who understands she's learning everything from scratch, especially house training. A securely fenced yard is a must, as she can be a flight risk. A calm, confident dog in the home would be a huge asset in helping her continue to build her confidence.

Ongoing Health

Shyla is up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative, fecal negative, and has had great bloodwork. She's had her dental work done and has been spayed. She does have a grade 3 heart murmur, but is doing well and not on medication. She will require routine monitoring by a veterinarian as she ages.

Training & Support

Shyla is still working on house training and will need consistent reinforcement. She needs a patient approach as she gains confidence and learns to trust.
