Norma Jeane is an approximately 8-year-old, 10-pound poodle mix who is as playful and spunky as they come! While the shelter listed her as 10, our vet estimates she could be as young as 7, and she certainly acts like a lively gal. Norma lives for a good game of fetch! Her ideal day would involve chasing a ball non-stop, with short breaks for naps. An adopter who is committed to playing fetch with her at least four times a day is a must, as ball is truly life for this little girl.
Norma is wonderful with people and especially adores young children who are respectful around dogs. She currently lives with a 4-year-old human and is very attentive to him, following him around and playing ball together. She is sweet to others but is not a cuddler and prefers to play or be independent. If you're seeking a dog to snuggle on the couch, Norma isn't the one. But if you're looking for an awesome sidekick who's game for anything, she might be your perfect match! Norma has a medium energy level; she's not up for super long walks but would enjoy accompanying you on car rides or in a stroller. Once inside with a ball, she's ready for action! She hasn't shown signs of separation anxiety and is non-destructive when left to roam. Her only significant training need is with potty training. She will go outside if the back door is open, but may have accidents inside if not closely supervised. She hasn't quite mastered signaling when she needs to go out. However, she is reliably potty trained in her large crate, which she considers her palace. Norma is great in the car and loves to watch the world go by. She coexists peacefully with three large dogs in her foster home, largely ignoring them. She would be fine with another laid-back dog but would also be perfectly content as a solo dog.
Ideal Home
An active adopter who loves to play fetch multiple times a day and can provide consistent supervision for potty training. While she's great with respectful young children, she is not a cuddler and prefers interactive play or independent time.
Ongoing Health
Norma Jeane has successfully completed heartworm treatment. She was not spayed prior to treatment due to the priority of addressing her heartworm. Wags will work with the adopter on an appropriate spay date.
Training & Support
Potty training is a work in progress. She needs a home that understands she may have indoor accidents if not closely monitored, but she is reliably trained in her crate.
