Meet Spike! This handsome two-year-old German Shepherd mix is a bundle of energy and affection, weighing around 50 pounds. Spike is incredibly intelligent, playful, and loves to snuggle, often thinking he's a lap dog! His favorite activities include playing with squeaky toys and swimming, making him the perfect companion for an active family. He was initially fearful but has shown incredible growth in confidence and now actively seeks affection and initiates play.

Spike would thrive in a home with a patient and experienced pet parent who can provide a fenced yard and loving, consistent guidance. He has lived peacefully with female dogs and would benefit from slow, thoughtful introductions to any new canine companions.

Training & Support

Spike is crate-trained and house-trained. He knows several commands, including sit, wait, crate, out, and come. He responds well to positive reinforcement and structure. While he is generally well-behaved, he can sometimes bark at strangers out of uncertainty and may whimper if he sees his people interacting with other dogs. Continued confidence-building and reassurance will help him continue to blossom.
