Romina is a spirited and affectionate pup who is about 1 year and 8 months old and weighs 57 lbs. She had a difficult beginning, found abandoned and injured, but after rescue and care, she has recovered beautifully. While an old hip fracture has resulted in one leg being slightly shorter, it doesn't hinder her at all! Romina is a bundle of energy who loves to play, chew, and enjoys treats. She's loyal, curious, and forms strong bonds with her humans. She also does well with other dogs and has lived with cats, though her play style can be a bit boisterous, so supervision is recommended. She enjoys the company of both children and adults, is crate-trained, and walks well on a leash, though she has a strong bark! Due to her age and love for chewing, she'll do best in a home that can provide structure, playtime, and plenty of affection.
Ideal Home
Romina would thrive in an active home with a tall fenced backyard and a family that enjoys outdoor activities. She needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue and understand the needs of a street animal, providing protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, is highly desired. She also requires a high tolerance and patience for rescued pups.
Ongoing Health
Romina has recovered from an old hip fracture that healed on its own. She has received a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and rabies vaccines, bordetella vaccine, deworming, microchip, a 4DX test and certificate, a negative heartworm test certificate, and monthly Nexgard Spectra for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. She also has a health certificate and vaccine booklet. Please note that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period and may not be house-trained.
Training & Support
Romina is still young and enjoys chewing, so she will benefit from a home that provides structure and plenty of opportunities for play and redirection. Patience and understanding are crucial as she adjusts to a new environment.
