Meet Esther, a loving 8-year-old Boxer mix who weighs about 40 lbs. She's affectionately known as Essie and arrived at our rescue after a difficult start, having been found starving and on death's door. Despite her past, Esther has emerged as a gentle, peaceful soul who brings a sense of calm to any room. Her favorite activities include snuggling, showering her humans with kisses (consider yourself warned!), and simply being close to her people. She's a sound sleeper, not destructive, and truly cherishes quiet time and cozy beds. Esther gets along well with other dogs and would be happy to have a canine friend in her new home, though she'd also be content as a solo dog soaking up all the attention. She's been working diligently on her leash manners and has shown wonderful progress, improving every day. Esther dreams of a loving home with people who are ready for snuggles, a soft place to land, and of course, plenty of snacks! For a dog who once fought for survival, she is remarkably soft, trusting, and full of love.

Esther would love a home full of love and people ready for snuggles. She would be happy with or without a canine companion, but a soft place to land is a must.

Esther is working on her leash manners and has made wonderful improvements, continuing to get better every day.
