About Angelic
$50 in pledges for the rescue that pulls
Angelic ACCT-A-251856 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Angelic must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER or ADOPTER by THURSDAY, JULY 2ND at 10AM. Should Angelic's medical or behavioral status change, her urgency and timeline for placement may also change.
When Angelic first arrived at ACCT Philly as a stray on June 2nd, she was shy and hesitant, often needing a little encouragement to leave her kennel and navigate her new surroundings. But with patience, a gentle approach, and a few high-value treats, her affectionate personality began to shine. Volunteers describe her whole body lighting up the moment she realizes she's heading outside, her tail wagging nonstop as she eagerly trots along for an adventure.
Once she feels comfortable, Angelic blossoms into an affectionate, people-oriented dog who loves soaking up attention. She walks nicely on leash, enjoys pets and scratches, and is incredibly food motivated-especially if pepperoni is involved! She already knows "sit" and is eager to learn. Like many young, happy dogs, she can get a little jumpy or mouthy when she's excited, but she redirects easily and responds well to positive guidance.
Angelic has had polite, tolerant interactions with other dogs but can be nervous around dogs with a more forward play style. She appears most comfortable with calm, respectful canine companions who will give her space to build confidence at her own pace. With a little patience and kindness, Angelic blossoms into a loving companion who simply wants to be close to her people. Due to her length of stay, Angelic is urgently seeking placement with a rescue partner or adopter.

Per volunteer 6/18: This sweet girl completely stole my heart. The moment she realized she was getting out of her kennel, her whole body lit up with excitement and her tail started wagging a mile a minute. Angelic is an absolute love bug who just wants to be by your side and soak up all the attention she can get. She does have a little bounce in her step and can be jumpy at times, but it's simply because she's so happy and full of life, and she's very easy to redirect. One way straight to her heart? Pepperoni! This girl is absolutely obsessed and will sit so politely in hopes of earning a tasty reward. Angelic is affectionate, eager to please, and has so much love to give. I truly adore her and can't wait for her to find a family who will cherish her as much as she deserves.

Per volunteer 6/9: Kennel Presentation: Standing in her kennel with a still body and tail. When I opened the door, she retreated to the other side with a cowering body. She came forward to get some tossed hot dog and, after a few tosses, came close enough to eat some out of my hand. At that point, I leashed her with a treat lure. Leash Skills: Once secured, left her kennel without issue and walked through the kennels with minimal to moderate pulling. Sociability: Initially aloof in the yard with lots of displacement sniffing. After several minutes and high value treats, she opened up and began soliciting more attention. She allowed handling all over and enjoyed petting once she had become more comfortable.
