Charlie is a sweet, energetic Black Mouth Cur/Lab mix who is approximately 1½ years old and weighs 85-90 pounds. He was unfortunately left at a shelter and was on the euthanasia list due to lack of space, but thankfully he was given a second chance and is now looking for his forever home. Charlie is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. He is crate trained and fully potty trained. He has a fun-loving personality and absolutely adores playing ball, especially tennis balls, though he enjoys a good game of keep-away with them! Charlie rides well in the car and doesn't struggle with anxiety. He tends to prefer female dogs over males and has not been cat tested, but his high energy might be too much for a feline friend.
Ideal Home
Charlie would do best in a home with teenage children or adults, as he may accidentally knock over small kids in his excitement. He would thrive with an active single person, couple, or family who enjoys outdoor adventures and would make an excellent hiking or running partner. He cannot be tied out or use an electric fence.
Ongoing Health
Charlie is up to date on vaccinations and is heartworm negative.
Training & Support
Charlie is a very smart boy and already knows several commands, including heel, sit, come, stay, off (no jumping), and nice/gentle when taking treats. He is still working on "down." With his intelligence and eagerness to learn, he could easily excel in advanced training, agility, or even protection work.
