Meet Ponderosa, or "Pondsy" as we affectionately call him! This handsome, almost 2-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix is about 60 pounds of pure sunshine, goofy charm, and "goodest boy" energy. Pondsy has a sleek black coat that shines and big, warm brown eyes that will melt your heart. When he sees his favorite people, get ready for the signature "Pondsy Wiggle," his tail goes into overdrive, and he'll happily flop over for belly rubs. He's a curious and playful pup who loves every adventure, from hikes to car rides, but he's also a champion snuggler once the day's excitement is over.
Ideal Home
Pondsy would be a perfect fit for a home with a friendly, medium-energy female dog to romp with, or he'd be just as happy being your one and only canine companion. He is best suited for a home without cats, as they are a little too tempting for him. He also does best without small children, as they can be a bit overwhelming. Teenagers (13+) and adults, however, are his jam – he bonds deeply and will be your shadow. While apartment living is possible on the first floor with sufficient exercise and mental stimulation, a yard would make him extra happy.
Ongoing Health
Pondsy is a resilient boy who has undergone leg surgery and physical therapy. He's come out the other side stronger and happier than ever! His back leg has a unique charm to it now, but it doesn't slow down his love for running, playing, and zooming.
Training & Support
Pondsy is a young pup with lots of enthusiasm! He enjoys his playtime and is working on his manners. He is a quick learner and will thrive with continued positive reinforcement.

Transporation
Pondsy is located at our Texas-based facility. We offer USDA-certified transport nationwide with drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada. For Canadian adopters, pick-up locations are in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. A $87 surcharge applies due to transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
