Meet Jack!
Jack is a friendly, loyal, and incredibly intelligent boy who journeyed all the way from near Lake Chapala, Mexico. He's now settling into his foster home in the greater Portland area, resting and adjusting to his new surroundings. Jack bonds deeply with his person and would be a fantastic candidate for agility training. He loves being by your side, whether in the garden or out on adventures, and he needs plenty of room to run and lots of exercise. A canine companion would be perfect to help him burn off energy! Jack was found by the roadside with his sister, Jill, and is very affectionate with those he knows. He’s an energetic dog who enjoys jumping and playing fetch. Jack is great with kids, but we are working on his jumping. He can be a bit timid of strangers approaching him on walks, but he warms up quickly. He is generally sweet and social and has a strong desire to please.
Ideal Home
Jack would do well in an active home that can provide him with regular walks and mental stimulation. He would love a slightly submissive playmate, but with proper introductions, he could likely get along with most dogs. He would make a great adventure buddy and would thrive with owners who can give him plenty of attention and exercise. He needs room to run and lots of exercise.
Ongoing Health
Jack is fully cleared and ready for adoption. He is up to date on core vaccinations and microchipped.
Training & Support
Jack knows basic commands in Spanish and we are working on them in English. He is food and treat motivated. He has shown a little resource guarding over toys with housemates but is easily redirected. While he is house and potty trained and walks well on a leash with minimal pulling, he can be anxious and vocal in his crate.
