Meet Scout – Your Loyal Packmate!

Scout is a gentle, laid-back soul with a playful streak and a heart full of loyalty. He’s excellent with other dogs, cats, chickens, and people of all ages. A true pack animal, Scout thrives in the company of other dogs and must be placed in a home with at least one canine companion. Separation from his pack makes him anxious, so he’s looking for a family that understands his need for togetherness. He loves to track and chase deer—his hound instincts shine! Scout is also curious and clever, making him an escape artist! He walks well on leash with a gentle trot, though he can be a little fussy about it, and he dislikes car rides but is working on it.

Ideal Home

Scout must live in a country setting with plenty of space to roam and must be placed in a home with at least one canine companion. He is best suited for an experienced hound owner who understands his instincts and energy.

Ongoing Health

Scout is currently underweight due to being picky about food, but he’s on a weight-gain journey and doing great. He is scheduled to be neutered this month. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. The microchip is transferred to the adopter once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a one-time $15 microchip enrollment fee.

Training & Support

Scout is an escape artist and can be a little fussy about his walks. He dislikes car rides but is working on it.
