A little about them
Meet Scout, a loyal Blue Tick Coonhound/Great Pyrenees mix with a gentle, laid-back personality and playful streak. At 1 year old, he’s affectionate, curious, clever, and happiest as part of a canine pack.
Ideal Home
Scout is excellent with dogs, cats, chickens, and people of all ages. He must live with at least one other dog and needs a country setting with plenty of space to roam. Because he can become anxious when separated from his pack, he is best suited to a family that understands his need for companionship and an experienced hound owner who can support his instincts and energy.
Scout loves tracking and chasing deer, so his hound instincts are strong. He is also curious and can be an escape artist.
Ongoing Health
Scout is currently underweight because he is picky about food, but he is on a weight-gain journey and doing well. He is scheduled to be neutered this month. He is microchipped through AKC Reunite; a one-time $15 enrollment fee is the adopter’s responsibility, and the chip is transferred after adoption. Collar tags are still recommended.
Training & Support
Scout is house-trained and walks well on leash with a gentle trot, although he can be fussy about walks. He dislikes car rides but is working on them.
