About Annie
Annie is a sweet, spunky Shih Tzu and poodle mix who is about 3-4 months old and weighs 7 lbs. She's expected to be around 20 lbs when fully grown. Annie is affectionate, loving, and truly adores being doted on by her humans. She's a natural explorer, always curious about new toys, sounds, and people. This social butterfly loves meeting new friends, both human and canine, and her adaptable nature makes her a perfect companion for an active family. Whether she's playing with her foster siblings, cuddling with her foster mom, or chasing toys in the yard, Annie is always happy as long as she's with her people. She's got the perfect balance of playful energy and laid-back cuddle bug vibes, ready for fun adventures or cozy evenings on the couch. Annie is also great at entertaining herself when her foster mom is working, keeping busy with her toys or napping in her bed.
Ideal Home
Annie would thrive in a variety of homes! She'd love an active family that enjoys walks, exploring, and outdoor adventures, but she'd also be content with a family that prefers cozy evenings at home. A fenced yard would be wonderful for her to run and play in. She would also love a toy box full of squeaky toys, ropes, and chew toys, especially as she's starting to teethe! Public dog parks are not recommended for Annie.
Ongoing Health
Annie is still a young pup, and as she grows, her new family will need to keep a watchful eye to ensure she doesn't chew on human toys, especially as she starts teething.
Training & Support
Annie is kennel trained and potty trained and has started on leash training. She sleeps through the night in her kennel and is happy to nap in it with the door open during the day. She alerts her foster family when she needs to go outside by circling at the back door. It's recommended to use a doggy doorbell to help her learn to notify you. She will need a consistent schedule and frequent potty breaks initially, but she adjusts quickly. While she's learning leash walking, she enjoys outings in her doggy pouch. She would love a family that is home more often than not, but if her humans work outside the home, a dog walker or doggy daycare a couple of times a week would be beneficial. Annie would benefit from frequent playdates with doggy friends or attending doggy daycare a couple of times a week to continue her positive interactions with other dogs.
