Meet Arthur! Arthur is a 5-year-old, 78-pound neutered Staffordshire Terrier/Retriever mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This handsome boy is the perfect combination of playful adventure buddy and affectionate cuddle companion. He was found roaming around a park with some other dogs and brought to the county shelter, but thankfully a foster stepped in to help him out. Arthur loves life and approaches every day with enthusiasm. He's a moderate energy guy who enjoys playtime, exploring, and spending time with his people.
Ideal Home
Arthur's ideal home is one that can provide regular exercise, structure, and plenty of opportunities to be part of the family. While he doesn't need another dog to be happy, he would thrive with people who enjoy including their dog in everyday adventures. Because of his size and excitement, he could accidentally knock over a small child during play, so a family that understands his energetic nature and can provide appropriate outlets for his enthusiasm would be best.

Training & Support
Arthur is fully house-trained and crate-trained. He settles nicely in his crate and has comfortably stayed crated for longer periods. He rides beautifully in the car and absolutely LOVES car rides! Arthur may pull at first on walks but settles into the routine and does well. He is curious and interested in cats and pot-bellied pigs, but has never shown aggression. As with any dog, proper introductions and supervision are recommended. He has successfully interacted with dogs of different sizes and does a good job reading social cues from other dogs.

Virtual home visits, personal, and vet reference checks are required to complete the process.

Arthur is currently in Houston, TEXAS. He can be transported once matched to an adopter. Transport is included in the adoption donation.
