Sherpa Throw

Sherpa is a handsome 2-3 year old Labrador Retriever mix who weighs about 80lbs. He was found in a rough state, but after receiving extensive medical care for wounds and heartworms, he has made a remarkable recovery and his true personality is shining through! Sherpa is an intelligent and diligent dog with an independent spirit, embodying many wonderful qualities of a working dog. He's friendly with people and gets along with other dogs of similar size, though he often prefers to explore or focus on a task. While Sherpa is a sweet boy who wants to please, he's still maturing and learning appropriate social skills.

Sherpa would do well in a home that understands his independent streak and can provide him with engaging tasks or opportunities to explore.

Ongoing Health

Sherpa has made a full recovery from his previous medical issues, including heartworms.

Training & Support

To help Sherpa continue to develop his social skills, he has been attending Instinct Dog Behavior and Training, where he's excelling in scent work and communication. His adopter will receive 8 FREE private training sessions with Instinct's trainers, available virtually or in-person for those in the NYC area or willing to travel.

Transporation

Sherpa is currently looking for foster placement in NYC or surrounding areas. He is available for local or out-of-state adoption, provided the adopter can travel to meet him.
