Wanda is a charming and energetic Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix, approximately 2-3 years old and weighing around 38 lbs. She was found wandering the streets, a bit malnourished and covered in ticks and fleas, clearly searching for a safe haven and a meal. Despite her rough start, Wanda has blossomed into a social, playful, and loving companion with adults. She has a zest for life and a lot of love to give!
Ideal Home
Wanda would thrive in an active family that enjoys outdoor adventures and daily walks. Experience with her breed is highly preferred, as is a home with a fenced backyard. While she has been okay with small dogs, it’s best for Wanda to be the only dog in the household. A family with an understanding of the needs of rescued street animals, including their potential behaviors and the importance of protection and education, would be a wonderful fit. Patience and a willingness to provide ongoing training and support are also key.
Ongoing Health
Wanda has completed a comprehensive health protocol. This includes being spayed/neutered, receiving two DHPPI vaccines, a Rabies vaccine, a Bordetella vaccine, and deworming. She has also tested negative for heartworm and tested negative on a 4DX test. She is on monthly Nexgard Spectra for protection against fleas, ticks, and heartworms. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are available.
Training & Support
Wanda is not yet house-trained and will require dedicated training and patience in this area. The rescue organization acknowledges that it's challenging to house-train every foster animal due to the high number of pets they care for. Success with Wanda will come from consistent positive reinforcement and understanding her need for guidance and education.
