Meet Oakley! This handsome 68lb terrier/pitbull mix, born around December 16, 2021, is looking for his forever home. Oakley is the sweetest boy who will shadow you around the house, always wanting to be where you are. He's a very smart and independent pup who already knows how to "sit" and "get on your bed." Walks are Oakley's absolute favorite, and he's a pro on the leash, though he does need reminders to "slow down" sometimes. He tolerates other dogs but would likely be happiest as the only canine in the home. Oakley also enjoys chasing cats and squirrels, but his favorite activity is cuddling up by your side. He's an incredibly sweet dog, especially considering his past. Oakley was found as a stray in a rough neighborhood, emaciated and with a nearly severed ear. He deserves a good life filled with love and companionship.
Ideal Home
Oakley would love a home where he can be by your side. He would prefer to be the only dog in the household and is known to chase cats and squirrels.

Oakley is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered.
Training & Support
Oakley is potty-trained and walks well on a leash. He may need gentle reminders to "slow down" during walks. He is also known to chase smaller animals, so continued training in this area would be beneficial.

Transporation
Oakley is located in Houston, TX. Transport is available out of state. We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
