Teddy

Teddy is approximately 3.5 years old and weighs about 10 lbs. His DNA shows a mix of Chihuahua, Yorkie, Bichon, and three other breeds. When he was rescued, he was a matted mess, but after his coat grew back, he's become a truly handsome boy who will need regular grooming. Teddy also had mature cataracts in both eyes, but after successful surgery and a recovery period with eye medication, he now has excellent eyesight!

Teddy is a devoted lap dog who loves to snuggle up on his foster's lap. He generally gets along with other dogs, but he prefers calmer canine companions and can become protective of his food, sometimes being snappy towards other dogs if they try to eat from his bowl. For this reason, he would do best as an only dog or with an older, quieter dog. He's fairly well house-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and enjoys car rides. Teddy is going to make a wonderful companion!

Ideal Home

Teddy would do best in a home with experienced dog owners and no children under the age of 8. He would also do best as an only dog or with an older, quieter companion.

Ongoing Health

Teddy had successful cataract surgery on both eyes and has recovered well. He is currently on monthly preventatives for heartworms, fleas, ticks, and parasites.

Training & Support

Teddy is fairly well house-trained but not perfect. He can be snappy towards other dogs if they try to eat his food, so he should be fed separately or in a calm environment.

Transportation

Teddy is currently in foster care in Houston, Texas. Transportation to Glastonbury, CT or Johnson, RI is included in the adoption fee.
