Trout

Meet Trout! This handsome fellow is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs 54 lbs. He was rescued from a local shelter's euthanasia list and is now thriving in foster care. Trout is surprisingly chill for his athletic appearance; he enjoys hikes and playtime but his favorite activity is lounging on the couch. He can be a little shy when meeting new people, needing a few minutes to warm up, but once he trusts you, he's a loyal companion. Trout is kennel trained, potty trained, walks well on a leash, and knows how to sit. He gets along well with other dogs of all sizes but shows a strong interest in squirrels and cats, so a home without felines is preferred. His one quirk is his impressive ability to spit out any medication, no matter how well it's hidden! Trout is dreaming of a forever home that will include him in adventures like camping and fishing.

Ideal Home

Trout would love a home that includes him in life's adventures, like camping trips, fishing weekends, and cozy evenings. A home without cats would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Trout is currently undergoing heartworm treatment. He is fully vetted, neutered, and up-to-date on preventatives.

Training & Support

Trout is already kennel trained, potty trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. He also knows how to sit. He needs a patient owner who can help him overcome his dislike for taking medication.

Trout is being fostered in Houston, Texas. He is available for transport to many areas across the country and will be ready to travel to his forever home in mid-to-late July.
