Maury

Maury is one of our longest residents, and he doesn’t deserve to be! Animal Control brought Maury to us on March 7, 2021. He was found underweight and wandering downtown. We got him back to a healthy weight and treated him for all conditions, but sadly, Maury has been passed over by adopters.

Maury is an energetic 4-year-old dog and would make someone a great running buddy! He loves to chase a ball and usually brings it back. He absolutely loves the water; a pond or a hose makes his day. He is a people-pleaser who loves getting pets from everyone. He is a smart boy who started picking up basic training with shelter staff.

Unfortunately, we think Maury wasn't socialized well as a pup. He doesn’t really know how to play with other dogs. He sends mixed signals to dogs, which throws them off. He will wag his tail and act like he wants to play, and then jump on them. With training and the opportunity to burn his energy, he could be a completely different story with other dogs.

Even though he gets to play in the yard twice a day, this sweet boy deserves to chase waves on a beach, hike on a mountain, and sleep next to his people on a couch. Maury just needs someone to see the amazing dog he is and give him a chance.

Ideal Home

Maury would do best as the only pet and, due to his energy, he would do well with older children.

Ongoing Health

Maury is up-to-date on all vaccines.

Training & Support

Maury is leash-trained and started picking up basic training with shelter staff. He needs continued training and socialization to help him better understand how to interact with other dogs.
