About Ginger Peaches the Little Best Friend
One look at those floppy ears, that tiny compact body, and those sweet, soulful eyes and you're done for! Ginger Peaches is a precious mix of tiny baby and big dog energy, all wrapped up in a small package that's impossible not to love. She's the perfect medium-small size, making her easy to bring along on adventures, a dream to snuggle with, and utterly convinced she belongs right beside her person at all times.
Ginger is a total people dog through and through. She loves hard, bonds deeply, follows you everywhere, and acts like your return from even a short trip was the greatest moment of her life. Her foster adores how excited she gets when they come home, as Ginger genuinely knows how to make her people feel special.
Ginger Peaches is believed to be a pit bull/chihuahua mix, approximately 11 months old and weighing 31 lbs. With rescue, breed and age are always a mystery, but whatever combination created this tiny girl absolutely nailed it. She has features that make you wonder about her unique mix, with the spirit of a pittie and the charm of a little dog.
When it comes to people, Ginger is one of the sweetest girls. She adores her foster and is a huge cuddle bug, wanting to be close to her person as much as possible. She's affectionate, loving, and has that loyal shadow personality, naturally following her foster around the house, just wanting to be included. Because she bonds so deeply, she does get a little sad when she's away from her humans and prefers not to be separated for long periods.
She'll thrive most with someone excited about having a true companion always by their side. Ginger has done great with kids ages 12 and 16, being affectionate, sweet, and comfortable around them. We believe she has potential to do well with younger children too and can arrange meetings upon request.
Ginger has done well with the dogs she's met, regardless of size or personality. She tends to be more of a shy, slow-burn socializer rather than an instant best friend. When introduced to new dogs, she primarily observes, letting others lead the way. After some time and space to settle, her personality opens up. She gravitates towards calmer dogs and especially loves playing with the older chihuahua mix in her foster home. She is mindful and respectful of other dogs, not being overly boisterous and having a thoughtful way about her.
Ginger has a fun, balanced personality. While playful and loving toys, she isn't constantly bouncing off the walls. She adores stuffy toys and will happily entertain herself. Her foster says Ginger LOVES to zoom and would dream of a nice backyard to run full speed and get her happy zoomies out. However, due to her size, quiet nature, and balanced energy, she could also thrive in an apartment setting with proper exercise, socialization, walks, and playtime. She's adaptable and just wants to be included in life with her people.
Ginger is crate trained, potty trained, and knows commands like "sit" and "shake." Her "shake" is ridiculously cute as she'll use both paws, trying extra hard to impress you! Between her adorable floppy ears, cuddly personality, tiny body, sweet nature, and the way she loves with her whole heart, Ginger is the kind of dog that becomes your little sidekick, couch buddy, shadow, and one of your favorite parts of everyday life.
We are willing to test Ginger with anything you need to ensure a perfect match.
Ideal Home
A home where she can be close to her people, as she prefers not to be left alone for long periods. A yard for zoomies would be wonderful, but she is also adaptable to apartment living with sufficient exercise and socialization.
