Meet Penny, a 2-year-old, 62-pound spayed female Shepherd/Husky mix with a bright spirit, big heart, and a whole lot of love to give. Penny is a fun-loving, affectionate, and outgoing girl who thrives in an environment where she can stay active, engaged, and close to her people. She’s curious, social, and always on the lookout for her next adventure or someone to cuddle. Penny is incredibly affectionate and emotionally tuned into her people, she loves love, and she gives it back tenfold once she feels safe and understood. Penny has likely experienced past trauma, she flinches easily and shows signs of needing reassurance and calm, consistent care. She is a sweet, sensitive soul who’s eager to bond deeply with her forever person or people.
Ideal Home
Penny would thrive in a home with older teens or adults who understand dog behavior and can help her channel her energy in positive ways. She needs a home that provides structure, patience, and understanding, and that doesn't expect her to be perfect right away. A home without cats is recommended due to her prey-driven behavior outdoors. She also does best with confident, medium-to-large dogs who are comfortable setting healthy boundaries.
Ongoing Health
Penny is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Penny is fully house-trained and prefers to be close to her people when home alone, sometimes whining or barking due to her deep bond with her humans. She hasn't been crate trained yet. While she can be trusted loose in the house when items are picked up and food is put away, she has a soft spot for chewing on dog beds when bored. Penny can come on a little strong during play, especially with smaller or more timid dogs, and can be protective of her space and high-value items like food or toys around other dogs. These are manageable behaviors that respond well to clear boundaries and respectful management.
