Sentry is a 6.5-month-old, male Retriever/Pit Bull mix who currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued from the woods with his mother, Wanda, and siblings. Sentry is a happy, affectionate, and playful pup who loves people, other dogs, and life itself. He is potty trained and is growing into a confident and well-rounded dog. He is outgoing, friendly, and eager to make new friends. Sentry has been raised with his littermates and mother and enjoys playing with other dogs. He has done well with children and has received plenty of attention from adults and kids alike at community events. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn.
Ideal Home
Sentry is looking for a family committed to reinforcing good manners, building his confidence, and helping him continue to mature into an exceptional adult dog. He thrives with ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice. Continued socialization with new people, places, sounds, and friendly dogs is essential for his lifelong confidence. We prefer homes that already have another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor and guide Sentry. If you don't currently have a dog, we'd love to hear your plan for continued socialization, which might include structured training classes, regular playdates with trusted dogs, supervised daycare, or other safe opportunities for positive canine interaction. Because Sentry is still a young dog, we also prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time.
