Hi there! I'm Khalie, and my favorite hobby is hugging people. I take my job very seriously, and when I want attention, I gently nudge your hand for pets. If that doesn't work, I upgrade to hugs – it's a highly effective system! I have what I would call "moderate athlete" energy and would love a nice walk in the morning, another in the afternoon, and plenty of time to explore a yard. Toys are largely beneath me, though I do have exactly one toy that I love and carry back to my crate. My foster family finds it hilarious that I occasionally believe stairs are meant to be launched from rather than walked down. I've been working very hard on my house-training skills and am catching on quickly. I sleep quietly in my crate all night, do wonderfully when kenneled, and I'm learning commands like sit and stay.

Ideal Home

Khalie is looking for patient people who will let her settle in at her own pace, appreciate her unique hobbies, and accept that hugs are going to be part of the relationship. She prefers to enjoy her meals and treats without other dogs crowding her personal dining space, so she happily eats and enjoys treats in her crate. If there are resident dogs in the home, she would do best with a laid-back, non-confrontational dog closer to her size.
