Romeo is a handsome four-year-old, 65-pound American Bulldog mix with a loyal, strong, and loving personality. He's a big softie who loves walks and is happiest when showered with affection. Romeo is eager to be the sole recipient of your love as the only pet in the home. He'll greet you with slobbery kisses and enthusiastic tail wags for his favorite people. He enjoys the attention he gets from strangers on the street, showing his appreciation for every kind gesture.
Romeo's life took a turn on Mother's Day 2024 when he swallowed a toy, requiring emergency surgery. He's been in foster care since then, longing for a loving home of his own. He finds joy in resting on a comfy dog bed at your feet while you work or simply relaxing with you during a movie marathon. He's also up for a fun game of tug-of-war or a friendly game of fetch with a tennis ball. Romeo is a good boy in the car, preferring to ride safely in the back seat, though he'll try to sneak into your lap for cuddles if he could! He tolerates baths and truly enjoys a good rubdown, melting into your touch.
Ideal Home
Romeo would thrive in a home where he can be the one and only pet and receive all the attention. He would do best with a strong handler and in a home with dog-loving children over 10 years of age.
Ongoing Health
Romeo is a healthy hunk who has been neutered, vaccinated for rabies, distemper, bordetella, and leptospirosis. He is heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative, fecal-tested, dewormed, and microchipped. He takes fluoxetine for separation anxiety, which can manifest as panic and drooling when left alone.
Training & Support
Romeo is still working on his excitement jumping and would benefit from continued training. He is crate-trained and housebroken, which are great foundations for success.
