Sven

Sven is a handsome 5 to 6-year-old German Shepherd with a heart of gold, ready to find his forever family. He's a smart and attentive boy who enjoys his space initially with new people, but with a little time, treats, and walks, he warms up beautifully. Sven has a fantastic training foundation from a past board and train program, making him a responsive and eager-to-please companion. He's a natural at hiking and walking, attentively aware of his surroundings and not easily distracted by small critters. While he's not one for excessive barking, he does a great job alerting to unfamiliar situations. Sven has shown he can do well with neutral dogs, both large and small, and would likely thrive with a female canine companion. He's not overly interested in boisterous play with other dogs but has displayed affection and neutrality, especially with smaller female friends.

Ideal Home

Sven would thrive in a low-traffic household with ample space for him to play and cuddle. He's not a fan of crowds and does best when his family can accommodate him in his crate when guests are over. He needs an owner who is engaging and interactive daily, and who understands and appreciates the loyal, protective nature of the German Shepherd breed.

Training & Support

Sven has a solid training foundation and just needs consistent follow-up from his owner. He's easy to walk and knows his tricks, especially for treats! He can be a bit intimidating to those unfamiliar with large breeds, but his affectionate and eager-to-please nature shines through once he's comfortable.
