Toby is a charming 1-year-old French mix, weighing in at 11 lbs. He's a bundle of love, affection, and boundless energy, always ready to shower his favorite people with kisses. Toby absolutely adores his walks, enjoys a good run, and loves to play with other dogs. He has a special soft spot for men!
Toby's journey to finding his forever home hasn't been easy. He was once abandoned and later suffered an injury from being hit by a car, requiring dedicated care to recover. Thankfully, he's now healthy, though he can sometimes have bursts of anxious energy. What Toby truly needs is an active and patient family who can help him channel his enthusiasm through play, outdoor adventures, and plenty of love. He's a loyal companion eager to get a second chance at happiness.
Ideal Home
Toby would thrive in a home with an active family who enjoys outdoor activities and has a securely fenced backyard, ideally with a tall fence. He needs a patient family with a deep understanding of rescued animals and their needs for protection and education. Previous experience with dog behavior and training is a plus, or a willingness to hire a trainer. Patience and high tolerance are crucial for this intelligent and perfectly imperfect pup.
Ongoing Health
Toby has undergone a comprehensive health protocol, including a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPi and Rabies vaccinations, Bordetella vaccination, deworming, microchipping, a 4DX test and certificate, and a negative heartworm test certificate. He receives monthly preventative protection with Nexgard Spectra for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. He also comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
It's important to understand that Toby is not house-trained, as is common with many rescued animals who require significant rehabilitation. Patience and understanding are key during his adjustment period. Providing a safe, loving environment, establishing a routine, and setting clear boundaries will help him feel secure and build trust.
