About Whistler
29.2 kg DOB 18Jun25
Meet Whistler! Whistler is a bright student of human and hound behavior with a mountain of intelligence just waiting to be channeled. Operating as a canine copycat, he meticulously studies the veteran dogs in the house, commits their good manners to memory, and mirrors them perfectly. Of course, this keen intellect also applies to entertainment. Whistler has excellent training potential and is eager to please. He requires structure and daily physical activity. If his mind isn't busy, he will find a job. That job might be "assistant landscape architect" which may or may not result in a freshly dug hole or a few petunia casualties.
Whistler loves window-watching the neighborhood and offering a complimentary bark to any lucky passerby. He adores squeaky and crackly toys and finds them fascinating at all hours. He has made a grand discovery: the human bed is infinitely better than the floor. He firmly believes the mattress belongs to him at any given hour of the day and will casually launch himself up there, entirely loaded down with toys. Don't worry, he actually sleeps like a dream at night on his own dog bed or the floor nearby.
Whistler is being fostered with other dogs and gets along well with them, though he is currently fed separately just to keep the peace. He loves his pack – sometimes a little too much! He has recently taken to giving his foster siblings unsolicited kisses; his affection is incredibly sweet, even if his foster siblings occasionally look at him like, "Please, buddy, I haven't even had my coffee yet." Because he has a mountain of love to give, he'd do great with dog siblings, but could also easily thrive as an only dog home.
An absolute good boy at heart, he walks beautifully on a leash in secluded areas and is ready to soak up all the training you can give him. He is great for a few hours when left alone (no destruction!) and is excellent with house training, just needing to be let out on a regular schedule. For the safety of the local kitty committee's stress levels, he's looking for a canine-only or pet-free kingdom!
Ideal Home
A secured, fenced yard is required. Whistler needs a home that can provide structure and daily physical activity to keep his busy mind engaged.
Ongoing Health
Whistler's adoption includes a heartworm test, tapeworm medication, regular dewormer, spay or neuter, Parvo distemper vaccine and booster, rabies vaccine, rabies tag.
