My name is Quiche Lorraine, and I'm a 3-year-old female spayed mix of Labrador, Pitbull, and Boxer, weighing about 65-70 pounds. I had a rough start, arriving as a stray and being surrendered twice before finding my current wonderful moms who have helped me blossom. While I adore them, they're moving on to start a family and realize the busy downtown life isn't ideal for me. I'm a super cuddler and will happily be your 65-pound lap dog! I'm also very curious, often called "Nosey Rosie," and love to be involved in whatever you're doing. I'm smart and food-motivated, learning commands like "Sit" and "Down" quickly. My favorite things include snuggling, snacks (especially celery, carrots, peanut butter, and bananas!), and squeaky toys.
Ideal Home
I thrive in a calm, stable, and predictable environment. I don't like being left alone, so a home where someone is around much of the time is best. Crates are a hard no for me as they cause panic, and I will escape, which is dangerous. I also get startled by sudden movements or people walking behind me without warning, so I need to be with children aged 12 and older, preferably calmer ones.
Ongoing Health
I'm generally in great health. I might have some skin allergies, as I occasionally scratch or chew myself, but medication like Apoquel and an allergy supplement have helped significantly. I'm currently taking daily medication to help manage my nervousness and big feelings, especially on leash, and this is recommended to continue.
Training & Support
I'm working on managing my excitement, especially when I get mouthy with "Touch!" training. I respond best to positive reinforcement and patience. I need help getting more comfortable with being left alone, as I can get anxious. I'm also a bit nervous and barky around new people, and can get overstimulated by too many people at once. It's best to keep initial introductions short, positive, and sweet. I also bark a lot at other dogs when I see them and need space, though I'm making progress with supervised socialization and play.
